Dear Residents:

Kaufman County MUDs 5/6/7 have hired a local contractor, Don Smith Concrete, for our 2026 Road and Sidewalk Capital Improvement Project. Don Smith Concrete will be repairing various ADA ramps, curbs and gutters, sidewalks, and concrete pavement to improve the safety and accessibility of the community.

Construction is expected to begin in early June and will last roughly 6 months. Emergency access will be maintained at all times. Trash collection and mail delivery services will continue, though slight temporary adjustments may occur.

What to Expect During Construction:

• Temporary lane closures and traffic control measures

• Construction equipment operating in the area

• Minor delays or adjustments to normal travel routes

• Occasional limited access to driveways (advance notice will be provided when possible)

How You Can Help: To ensure the work is completed safely and efficiently, we ask that

residents:

• Avoid parking in designated construction areas

• Follow all posted signage and instructions from flaggers

• Use caution when traveling near work zones

• Keep a safe distance from construction crews and equipment

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete these important improvements to enhance the safety and quality of our community. If there are any issues during construction, please report them to the District’s website under the Report a Problem link in the QR code attached.
